US-based solar manufacturer, GameChange Solar has signed a 1.25 GW solar tracker supply contract with CEEC-ZTPC for the Abydos II solar project in Egypt, which is being developed by AMEA Power. According to GameChange Solar, the project will combine a 1 GW AC solar photovoltaic plant with a 600 MWh BESS in the Aswan Governorate. AMEA Power has planned the project to cover an area of 20 square kilometers and expects it to generate around 3,000 GWh of electricity annually. CEEC-ZTPC (China Energy Engineering Group Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd.)is responsible for the construction of the project, which is scheduled to be commissioned by May 2026. GameChange Solar has stated that with this order, its cumulative tracker supply capacity in Egypt has reached nearly 3 GW. AMEA Power has also confirmed that the project is expected to provide electricity for over 500,000 households each year.
