Detroit-based DTE Energy, a producer of and investor in renewable energy, has started building a new solar power project named Cold Creek Solar Park near Coldwater, Michigan. This project will make 100 MW of solar energy and is expected to be completed by 2026. It will help Ford use clean electricity in its Michigan factories. Ford has made a deal to buy 650 MW of clean energy from DTE’s MIGreenPower program, the biggest deal like this in the US. This will help Ford to reduce pollution and reach its goal of using only clean electricity in its factories by 2035. In 2025, DTE also planning to open or start building six more solar parks, which will make enough electricity for about 220,000 homes. Recently, DTE Energy also commissioned 150 MW Sauk solar project in Michigan.
