Washington DC-headquartered The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has canceled a $7 billion grant program that was part of President Biden’s Solar for All initiative. The program was set up to help more than 900,000 low-income households across the U.S. access solar power. Funding had already been awarded to 60 recipients, including states, tribal governments, and regional organizations, for projects like rooftop solar panels and community solar gardens. The goal was to lower electricity bills and bring cleaner energy to underserved communities. The cancellation, announced on Thursday, is part of a broader shift under the Trump administration to roll back clean energy efforts started during Biden’s term.
