Enphase Energy, Inc., a US-based energy technology company, has introduced Power Control software for IQ9 and IQ8 microinverter-based small commercial solar systems. The software allows installers to configure aggregate export limits to the utility grid, through the Enphase Installer App, enabling systems to operate within defined grid constraints. Power Control software requires IQ Gateway Commercial 2 and IQ Gateway Commercial Pro hardware using consumption-monitoring current transformers or a DTS-310 remote meter depending on monitoring configuration. The company has California Energy Commission-listed commercial inverter configurations supporting Power Control Systems. The solution enables non-export and limited-export installations under California Rule 21 Options 8 and 10. The software-based export management feature is designed to help limit the need for transformer upgrades, electrical service modifications, and additional third-party export-control hardware.
