Italy based Enel S.p.A., through Enel Green Power North America and EGPNA Project Holdco 2, has signed agreements with Excelsior Energy Capital to acquire a US portfolio of wind and solar plants. The portfolio has an installed capacity of 830 MW and is expected to generate around 2.1 TWh per year. The consideration stands at approximately $1 billion subject to customary adjustments. The enterprise value for 100% of the portfolio is about $1.3 billion. The deal will be financed through cash flows from current operations. After closing, the transaction is expected to add around $145 million per year, to Enel Group’s consolidated ordinary EBITDA at regime. The acquisition would raise Enel’s renewable installed capacity in North America to approximately 13 GW across wind, solar and storage. Closing is expected in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
