Encore Renewable Energy, a Vermont-based renewable energy developer, has hosted an event with the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire to mark status on the 4.99 MW Poverty Plains Solar project. This Project is designed to supply affordable energy to eleven participating communities. The project is being installed on a former gravel pit that has been repurposed to generate locally sourced electricity for public institutions, according to Encore Renewable Energy. Chad Farrell from Encore Renewable Energy said that the project has supported lower electricity costs and a more resilient energy outlook for the state, while CPCNH stated that nearly $5 million in member benefits is expected through New Hampshire’s Group Net Metering program. Eversource Energy added that the project has strengthened local power access and grid upgrades across the region.
