US-based renewable energy developer and IPP, Doral Renewables, has reached commercial operation of its 48 MW Great Bend Solar project in Ohio. The installation is located in Meigs County and began commercial operation on January 6, 2026, after reaching substantial completion and being placed in service during December 2025. The asset is located on the Great Bend near West Virginia and operates under a long-term PPA with a major offtaker. It supplies electricity to over 9,000 American homes and contributes more than $400,000 in annual tax revenue to Meigs County for local services. Doral manages a nearly 18 GW solar and storage portfolio, with nearly 450 MW operating and 1,500 MW under construction across 18 US states. Recently, Doral Renewables has secured a PPA for the 270 MW AC Lambs Draw Solar Project in Kansas, with LevelTen Energy serving as platform provider.
