Distributed Energy Infrastructure (DEI), a US-based solar and storage EPC provider, has joined the Solar and Farming Association (SAFA) board as a founding board member. The company is part of the initial group establishing the trade association, which is focused on advancing farmer-centered dual-use solar and agricultural projects. The SAFA promotes project designs that allow solar infrastructure and agricultural production to coexist on the same land. DEI has stated that it brings experience from working directly with farmers and managing construction on sensitive agricultural land. The company has also indicated that soil protection is addressed through project design and execution practices. The release referenced the Black Cat and Ring Road projects, which have been constructed above cranberry bogs since 2023. According to the statement, coordinated construction activities have supported a successful cranberry harvest in 2025. DEI has further stated that it plans to support the association’s policy engagement activities, with a focus on the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.
