Diamond Infrastructure Solutions has granted Third Pillar Solar exclusive rights to assess floating solar projects on its Texas reservoirs.The initiative is planned to add up to 500 MW of capacity with investments exceeding $700 million. It is designed to utilize underused water surfaces while reducing freshwater evaporation by nearly 15%. The projects are planned to finish by 2030. They are expected to create hundreds of local jobs. Diamond and Third Pillar are also set to collaborate on supply chain opportunities. This marks the first large-scale floating solar partnership in North America. Once built, the projects will rank among the largest floating solar installations in the Americas.
