Dhamma Energy Mexico, the Latin American arm of Madrid-based Dhamma Energy, was awarded 440 MW of photovoltaic capacity. The award was granted by the Government of Mexico through the Ministry of Energy under the first Call for Private Generation Projects 2025. The award covered three solar projects—Hidalgo 1, Hidalgo 2 and Hidalgo 3—planned in the state of Hidalgo. The projects were intended to support the reliability, security and continuity of the National Electric System in a high-demand region. Commercial operation was scheduled to start in 2028. The decision followed more than seven years of project development and reflected regulatory approval of the proposed generation capacity.
