US renewable energy company D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI), in partnership with Cleco Power, announced that construction had begun on the 240 MW Dolet Hills solar project in DeSoto Parish after achieving full notice to proceed. The project was DESRI’s first construction activity within Cleco Power’s service territory and was scheduled for commercial operations in 2027. It was expected to generate electricity for about 50,000 Louisiana homes and businesses each year. Customers interested in solar energy were able to participate through Cleco Power’s Green Option Solar program, the utility’s new green tariff.
