Cornerstone Building Brands (CBB), a US-based maker of metal roofing systems, has partnered with AUO Energy Business to add AUO's SunSteel solar panels to CBB's Double-Lok metal roofs. The factory-integrated system is intended for C&I buildings and is delivered with solar panels pre-attached to each roofing panel. According to the announcement, the combined roofing and PV system is designed to simplify installation by allowing roofing and solar work to be completed by a single trade. The SunSteel panels supplied by AUO Energy Business use bifacial monocrystalline half-cut cells and are available in configurations delivering either 0.78 kW or 1.17 kW per panel, depending on panel length. The integrated panels are rated to operate between −40°C and +70°C and include specified front and rear load ratings. The system will be offered through multiple Cornerstone Building Brands metal building system brands.
