CleanCapital, a New York–based independent power producer focused on distributed energy generation, has announced the completion of its 3.59 MW Elk Street solar project in Buffalo, New York. According to CleanCapital, the project has been developed on an 11-acre capped and lined brownfield site previously used as an ExxonMobil tank farm, located north of the Buffalo River. The facility is expected to generate over 4,100 MWh of electricity annually and supply affordable solar power to local residents, including low- and moderate-income households, through National Grid’s Expanded Solar for All program. The Elk Street project forms part of CleanCapital’s West Elk Fork portfolio alongside West Shore and Fork in the Road projects in New York, collectively aimed at supporting grid stability, expanding community solar access, and repurposing underutilized industrial sites across the state.
