US-based Chroma Energy Group, a nationwide solar installer, has completed a 1.4 MW solar installation at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Tennessee. The project was constructed as a subcontractor to Apex Construction Group, began in April 2023. It was designed to enhance the base’s energy resilience and reduce energy costs. The solar system is part of a phased plan to build a microgrid that will later include battery storage. Once complete, the microgrid is expected to support operations during outages and emergencies. Chroma Energy Group also addressed glare concerns by adjusting the panel angles near the airfield.
