US-based Avangrid has completed the assembly of over 200,000 solar modules supplied by SEG Solar’s Houston manufacturing facility. These modules will be installed at Avangrid’s 166MW DC (120MW AC) Tower Solar project in Morrow County, Oregon. According to Avangrid, the project will supply energy to Portland General Electric’s grid and support Meta’s regional data center. SEG Solar’s 250,000 square foot Houston plant, which began operations in early 2025, marked its first utility-scale delivery with this project. As per SEG Solar, the facility has a 2GW annual capacity and represents a $60 million investment. Avangrid stated the project will create over 200 local jobs and is expected to be completed by 2026. The project will participate in PGE’s Green Future Impact program and is projected to generate $20 million in PILOT and property taxes to support local services, especially education.
