UK based Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure has completed the acquisition of Statkraft’s renewable energy platform in Canada on December 10, 2025. The transaction included 236 MW of operating wind assets and a 0.6 GW pipeline of solar, wind, and storage projects across multiple Canadian provinces. The operating portfolio comprised a 51 % stake in the 100 MW l’Érable wind project in Quebec and a 136 MW wind project in Alberta, both supported by long-term PPAs with investment-grade counterparties. The acquisition also transferred a local operational team to Atlantica. In parallel, Atlantica closed project financing for the Winnifred project with National Bank of Canada, following an acquisition agreement signed in August 2025.
