Arevon, a US-based renewable energy developer, has planned the 124 MW DC Big Muddy Solar facility on privately owned land in Jackson Country. Arevon has stated that the project is aligned with long-term community priorities. The development is expected to supply power for more than 24,000 Illinois homes as Arevon has continued coordinating with local officials and landowners to support broader regional interests. The company has estimated more than USD 198 million in local investment, which is projected to generate construction jobs, school revenues and long-term tax income for Jackson County. Arevon has added that annual operations are expected to support direct employment, increased economic activity and habitat improvements within the project area.
