Aptera, a California-based solar electric vehicle maker, has completed its first solar-supported road trip, covering over 300 miles on a single charge. The team began in snowy Flagstaff, Arizona, where the vehicle received 300 watts of solar input in the morning. The route passed through Hackberry, Kingman, and Lake Havasu before ending in California. The vehicle managed mountain roads, desert winds, and highways. Even on cloudy days, it received over 545 watts of solar energy. It drew attention on the road for its design. The trip tested the production-intent model’s systems in real conditions. As per company, the Aptera's vehicle was built for efficiency, with a 400-mile battery using ultra-low drag, a lightweight composite body and 700 W of rooftop solar cells providing 40 miles daily. Recently, HG Fenton has installed solar panels to support Aptera's facility expansion in California
