Apex Clean Energy, a developer of utility-scale solar and storage facilities, has announced the sale of four projects. The 20 MW AC distributed solar portfolio was acquired by Summit Ridge Energy, the US-based commercial solar company. This transaction has officially marked the third collaboration between the companies to deploy local energy infrastructure. The portfolio, consisting of four facilities (Bandyville, Rooks Creek, Swamp Fox, and Cherry Grove), is located in Illinois. These deployments are slated to begin commercial operations by the end of 2026. This sale represents Apex’s first distributed energy commercialization completed within the state of Illinois. Recently, Summit Ridge has closed a $305 million US solar financing with Bank of America.
