American Power Conversion (APC), a business unit of Schneider Electric, has switched five manufacturing facilities in the Cavite Economic Zone to 100 % renewable energy in December 2025. The transition was implemented through a renewable energy supply agreement with ACEN RES under the Philippine government’s Green Energy Option Program. The facilities, mainly engaged in semiconductor manufacturing, began sourcing electricity entirely from renewable sources for office and production operations. The arrangement was reported to avoid around 11,600 tCO2e annually. The Green Energy Option Program allowed eligible electricity users to directly contract renewable suppliers instead of default utilities. ACEN RES held the largest share of the program at 57 % at the time of the agreement. The Cavite sites were identified as the first Schneider Electric facilities in East Asia and among the first eco-zone factories in Luzon to operate fully on renewable power.
Schneider Electric APC transitioned five Philippine plants to renewables
Five Cavite Ecozone manufacturing facilities operated by APC by Schneider Electric were supplied renewable electricity through ACEN RES under the Philippines’ GEOP framework.
