Ameresco, Inc., a US-based energy infrastructure solutions provider, and Luminace, a North America-based decarbonization-as-a-service provider, have completed the Coventry Landfill Solar project for the Town of Coventry. The project has installed a 5.74 MW PV array on a capped landfill designated under CERCLA. According to the release, the PV installation is expected to generate about 7.7 million kWh annually. This PV output is stated to supply electricity equivalent to more than 1,100 homes each year. The landfill PV installation is also positioned to eliminate approximately 3,760 tons of CO2 emissions annually. Luminace has been identified as project owner, while Ameresco has supported development and execution activities. Over the initial lease period, the Town of Coventry is expected to receive about $4.4 million in economic benefits.
