Ameresco, a Massachusetts-based energy infrastructure solutions provider, has developed rooftop and carport solar systems for Orange Unified School District across seven sites. According to Ameresco, the portfolio includes four elementary, one middle, and two high school buildings. California-based Orange Unified School said that five projects were finished while two high school systems were scheduled for energization by late 2025. Ameresco stated that it will own and maintain the systems under a long-term power purchase agreement. As per Orange Unified School District, the fixed pricing structure has ensured predictable planning and protected operations from market volatility. Ameresco noted that projected savings reached $6.3 million over twenty-five years. Orange Unified School District added that the initiative has supported district-wide efficiency goals.
