AES Indiana, a subsidiary of AES Corporation, announced that the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved its acquisition and construction of the Crossvine solar-plus-storage project in Dubois County. Lightsource bp was selected as the developer from whom AES Indiana will acquire the project. Crossvine, scheduled for completion by mid-2027, will add 85 MW of solar capacity and 85 MW / 4-hour battery storage. The project, identified in AES Indiana’s 2022 Integrated Resource Plan, is expected to power approximately 14,500 homes. The Pike County Battery Energy Storage System also began full operations. Crossvine will join Hoosier Wind and Hardy Hills Solar in AES Indiana’s renewable portfolio. Collectively, the three projects are projected to generate around 760,000 MWh annually, enough to power approximately 63,000 homes.
