Advantage Capital, a New York-based impact investment firm, has announced a $265 million tax equity commitment with Origis Energy for three utility-scale solar projects in Florida and Alabama. Walker Springs I and II in Clarke County received more share of $200 million. The projects will deliver 209 MW (DC) and were scheduled for operations between late 2025 and early of 2026. Whistling Duck in Levy County received $65 million. The 96 MW (DC) project was in late-stage construction and is expected online in late 2025. All projects used domestically sourced equipment. The transactions followed the Swift Air Solar announcement in Texas earlier this year. The investments were stated to support economic activity and expand Advantage Capital’s portfolio beyond $2.5 billion and over 3 GW of supported capacity.
