Alternus Clean Energy, a utility-scale clean energy producer, and Acadia Energy, a microgrid developer, have formed a joint venture to co-develop 200 MW of microgrid projects in New York State. Combining expertise in renewable energy development and operations, the venture aims to focus on scalable microgrids supporting local economic growth and sustainability goals over the next two to three years. Alternus will have a 51% ownership stake in the projects, while Acadia will lead development efforts. Costs and equity will be split equally between the partners. Anticipated to commence operations within two years, these projects align with New York’s clean energy targets. Acadia holds a project pipeline of 1.5 to 2.0 GW in New York and is actively engaging with regulatory agencies for microgrid implementation.
