Altafiber has announced the completion of a ground-mounted PV array in Middletown, Ohio, achieving net-zero carbon emissions after one year of operation. Designed and installed by Appalachian Renewable Power (ARP Solar), the system consists of 184 panels expected to generate approximately 116,000 kWh annually. This solar array aims to offset 100% of the building’s annual electricity consumption. It forms a crucial part of Altafiber’s climate action plan, targeting a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The company aims for net-zero emissions intensity by 2040, aligning with Macquarie Asset Management’s goals. According to Altafiber, solar power now fuels its fiberoptic Internet and video technology in Middletown.
