Burns & McDonnell, serving as the EPC contractor, will be overseeing construction for two Alliant Energy solar projects in Iowa. The 150 MW Wever project in Lee County and the 50 MW Creston project in Union County aim to annually power over 40,000 homes. Construction, managed by AZCO, a Burns & McDonnell subsidiary, employs up to 300 workers at Wever and 120 at Creston, primarily sourced locally. Wever project incorporates proactive flood risk management, including an in-house designed drain tile system. The Creston project prioritizes efficiency and sustainability, employing innovative construction technologies and installing 3 miles of underground cables for grid connection. Burns & McDonnell has previously completed nine solar projects for Alliant Energy in Wisconsin.
