Algeria has sent a delegation from the state-owned Sonelgaz to the US to explore potential investment by GE Vernova in its renewable energy program. Discussions with GE Vernova executives in Atlanta focused on Algeria’s plan to generate 15 GW of renewable energy by 2035, including 4 GW by the end of 2024. Approved in 2020, the program aims to reduce reliance on conventional energy and save 240 billion cubic metres of gas.
