China-based AIKO Solar has partnered with Nordlys NTNU, the first Norwegian solar car team from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, to support its entry in the World Solar Challenge. This 3,000 km race across the Australian outback tests PV solar-powered vehicles under extreme conditions, including high temperatures and unpredictable weather. Nordlys NTNU will be utilizing AIKO’s All Back Contact solar cells, known for their efficiency and performance in harsh environments. These cells aim to optimize the energy production of the team’s solar car, enabling it to perform reliably throughout the challenging race. The partnership highlights the application of advanced photovoltaic technology in the transportation field.
