AIKO achieves Swiss Hail VKF HW4 certification

AIKO, a global leader in clean energy technology, has announced that its high-efficiency All Back Contact (ABC) solar modules have achieved the world’s first Swiss Hail VKF HW4 certification after passing TÜV Rheinland’s rigorous hail impact test. Unlike the standard IEC 61215 test using 25mm hailstones, AIKO subjected its ABC modules to 40mm hailstones, delivering over 11.1J of impact energy across 16 points. Conducted in Cologne, Germany, the test verified the modules’ robustness with no visible damage, no microcracks detected by electroluminescence (EL), and passing all insulation voltage and damp leakage tests. TÜV Rheinland’s Cologne laboratory adheres strictly to VKF standards, using hailstones imported from Austria, ensuring impartial testing and validation for solar module manufacturers globally.
