AGL and Elecsome have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to study the feasibility of establishing a solar panel recycling and solar cable manufacturing plant at AGL’s Hunter Energy Hub Bayswater e-Recycling Precinct. The study will determine engineering, infrastructure, environmental, and regulatory requirements. If developed, Elecsome’s first commercial-scale recycling plant in NSW could upcycle 500,000 solar panels annually using their patented SolarCrete technology. The facility aims to produce up to 20,000 km of solar cable per year. The project is expected to create approximately 20 jobs during construction and 50 jobs once operational.
