AES achieves 3.5 GW renewables milestone in 2023

AES Corporation achieved a significant milestone in 2023, completing 3.5 GW of renewables projects, nearly doubling the previous year’s capacity and bringing AES’ total renewables portfolio to 18.4 GW. Noteworthy projects include Great Cove Solar venture in Pennsylvania, now the state’s largest, supplying 70% of the University of Pennsylvania’s campus demand. Chevelon Butte Wind in Arizona, constitutes 238 MW phase 1 wind facility, making it the largest wind farm in the state. McFarland A Solar-plus-Storage project in Arizona, ranks among the state’s largest solar-plus-storage ventures. Lastly, Oak Ridge Solar facility in Louisiana, stands as the state’s largest operational solar project.
