ACWA Power signs deal for 150 MW hybrid plant in South Africa

ACWA Power, the lead shareholder in the 150MW ACWA Power Project DAO, has signed the PPA for the hybrid plant in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province. With a USD 800 M investment, the project is scheduled to commence operations by Q2 2026, addressing grid congestion and fostering other renewable projects. The investor consortium, including Thebe Investment Corporation and Aventro Investments, emphasizes local economic benefits.
