ACCIONA, a leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy, has expanded its presence in the Philippines by acquiring an 80% stake in Freya Renewables, a renewable development consulting firm. This move adds 880 MW to ACCIONA’s development portfolio. Additionally, ACCIONA Energía is constructing a 150 MW solar power plant in Daanbantayan, the Philippines’ first public-private partnership in solar energy. As the Philippine government aims for 35% renewable energy by 2030 and 50% by 2040, ACCIONA is collaborating with the Ayala Foundation and receives co-financing from AECID to provide clean energy to 600 households, with plans to impact over 1,500 rural households in Palawan by 2025. Acciona.org has been empowering underserved communities since 2021, addressing immediate energy needs sustainably.
