US-headquartered Synopsys, Inc. has committed to purchasing 90 MW of solar energy from the Millers Branch Solar Facility in Haskell County, Texas. Facilitated by Sustainability Roundtable, Inc.’s (SR Inc) Net Zero Consortium for Buyers (NZCB), the agreement enables Synopsys to continue its efforts in decarbonization. The Millers Branch project, managed by Southern Power Company, will develop new renewable capacity in the energy-intensive ERCOT region and is expected to be operational by late 2026. This purchase supports Synopsys’ Science Based Targets initiative-approved goals, including a 55% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2032. The deal was executed efficiently due to prior NZCB aggregated procurement negotiations.
