Entergy and NextEra Energy Resources LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc., have announced a joint development agreement to accelerate up to 4.5 GW of new solar and energy storage projects in the US. This agreement marks significant progress in Entergy's renewable generation portfolio. According to Entergy, renewable energy demand is increasing in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. NextEra notes the power sector is at an inflection point, with growing electricity demand met by low-cost renewable generation and storage. This collaboration adds up to 4.5 GW to the over 1.7 GW of renewable projects already underway. The five-year agreement will facilitate new solar and storage projects' development and construction.
