US-based Ellensburg Solar LLC has completed a solar installation for the Mount Vernon Library Commons Project in Mount Vernon, Washington, set to finish in September 2024. The system includes 350 Silfab Prime panels, totaling 129.5 kW, with custom steel racking from US-based B&B Fabricators. It features SolarEdge optimizers and a 100 kW SolarEdge inverter, projecting a first-year output of 119,569 kWh. The $53 million project encompasses a library, community center, commercial kitchen, and a parking structure with 276 stalls. This parking facility will host the largest public EV charging center in the US, with 4 DC fast chargers and 72 Level 2 chargers. Designed to Passive House standards, the project aims to reduce energy use by 80% and cut GWP in concrete by 40%, benefiting the Cascadia Innovation Corridor.
